Children in Key Stage One will study the following topics, to ensure the breadth of study is covered.

 

  • Year 1:
  • African animals (observational drawings)
  • Victorian inventor portraits
  • Patterns and texture
  • Clay pots – decorated with flowers
  • Monet – paint technique, recreating some of his famous paintings 
  • Van Gogh – use textured paint to recreate ‘The Sunflowers’.
  • Cezane – create their own still life art work.
  • Year2: -
  • Designing Chocolate bar wrappers. 
  • Pop art – Andy Warhol 
  • Van Gogh’s Starry Night
  • Tapestry
  • Aboriginal artwork

• Portraits of Henry VIII wives at different stages of life

• Clay work – Tudor rose

 

Year 5:

• Perspective

• Seascapes – Turner – looking at how different artists have portrayed the sea.

• Pictures through Music – ‘Fingal’s Cave’ create own sea composition

• Colour effecting mood- seascape- storms- clear day- feelings

• Shading and tinting – light and shadow link

• Space collages

• Observational drawing/watercolours & African animals
