End of Year Update - 09.07.20

Information regarding September will be published on the website tomorrow - you will receive a hard copy of this letter with your child's annual report from Monday onwards.  If your child is not currently attending school then please await further details for collection/delivery of this report next week.  As per the update issued on 25.06.20 we have now contacted all families in receipt of free school meals to arrange support through the COVID summer food fund voucher scheme (this does not include the universal infant free school meal offer).  This will enable families of children who are eligible for benefits-related free school meals to be supported over the summer holiday period as school will be closed.  Until then we will continue to provide a chilled choice sandwich option for collection as per DfE guidance as we have a full catering service available in school daily.  If any family is having difficulty then please contact the school directly.

Update - 25.06.20

The school is currently awaiting further information from the DfE (Department for Education) regarding expectations for schools from September onwards, so as soon as we have any further information we will let you know.  Hopefully this will be published and available to schools by the end of next week.  This will only give schools two weeks notice before the summer so please be patient as we work through our planning as quickly as possible!

All parents of children in Y2, Y3, Y4 and Y5 that expressed an interest in their child/ren returning to school for some time before the summer have received a letter today, via email or through a sibling in school, with details of their return next week.  If you have not indicated that your child is returning then please do not just arrive at school unexpectedly, you need to make contact with school first to confirm if there are any spaces available as the deadline has already passed.

If you are in receipt of free school meals then we will be contacting you next week to arrange support through the COVID summer food fund voucher scheme (this does not include the universal infant free school meal offer).  This will enable families of children who are eligible for benefits-related free school meals to be supported over the summer holiday period.  Until then the school will continue to provide a chilled choice sandwich option for collection as we have a full catering service available in school daily.

Letter to Families - 18.06.20

Update - 16.06.20

Last week the Government confirmed that they were no longer able to achieve their ambition for primary schools to re-open to all other year groups before the summer.  Yesterday they updated their guidance to give schools some flexibility to offer what they can to Y2, Y3, Y4 and Y5 children, if they have the capacity and are safely able to do so.  In order for us to plan if this is possible we need to firstly confirm with parents of F1, F2, Y1 and Y6 children that have not yet returned to school if they wish to do so before the summer.  This will determine what the school may or may not be able to offer to other year groups.

We are asking all parents of F1, F2, Y1 and Y6 children to confirm by 3pm on Wednesday 17th June if they wish to take up a place for their child for the remainder of the year.  If we do not receive a response we will assume that you do not wish to return your children and they will not then be able to take up a place at a later date, as this may have been offered to other pupils.  There continues to be no penalty for children not returning at this time.

Y6 Transition Update 12.06.20

Please see Y6 Transition in the parent section of the website for latest letters sent from Maltby Academy.

Children have now been allocated a House and Tutor Group.  If your child is in school these have been shared today, if your child is not attending school then please contact us so we can share this with you.

Monday 01.06.20

Please find below a timetable of return for F1, F2, Y1 and Y6.  For further details please click on the letters below for each year group.

It is crucial that if you have not indicated your child will be returning you must let us know - please do not just arrive at school as we have to safely plan for any additional children.  Please note that only these year groups alongside our priority groups are eligible to return at this time.

Please contact school if you have any questions or queries regarding the return.  We look forward to welcoming some of you back to school in the near future.
