As you know, we have recently had the worst floods across the South Yorkshire area since 2007, which has seen some families lose their homes and many of their belongings. Many public services – including schools – have also suffered losses. It is highly likely that many of you know someone who has been personally affected or displaced by the recent events.
As our school is part of Nexus MAT and therefore connected with a wider family of schools across South Yorkshire, we are asking if families are able to make any donation possible for the victims of these recent events.
Our intention is to work with the responsible local authorities and those charities supporting these communities, and pass any donations to them for wider dispersal.
We are therefore asking for the following donations to be made to school:
- Scented/plain candles;
- Over the counter medicines e.g. Paracetamol/ Ibuprofen/Lemsips;
- Food Bags;
- Rubble Sacks;
- Fire Lighters;
- Fuse Amps.
If you can think of anything else to donate, please feel free to be creative. Every little helps.
If your donations can be made to the school office by Friday 22 November, that would be greatly appreciated.
As Children in Need is coming up, we realise that families are already making financial contributions to many good causes, which is why we are not asking for monetary donations.
Thank you for your continued support.
