Crags Community School

Mini Police

WE ARE CURRENTLY RECRUITING OUR NEXT GROUP OF MINI POLICE - to be interviewed in October 2021!

South Yorkshire Police & Volunteer Police Cadets have launched a Mini Police scheme for our Year 5 and 6 pupils.

Police Officers, Police staff and other agencies work with the Mini Police officers to teach various important messages.   These messages are then delivered to the rest of the school. This include issues such as the role of the Police and other emergency services, internet safety and monitoring the parking and the speed of vehicles around your school.

South Yorkshire Police provide a Mini Police Uniform for children to wear and also a noticeboard within school for us to display any important information.  The Mini Police will also help at community events such as summer fayres, community litter picks etc.

As a reward for all their hard work, when children have completed the programme they will be invited to a Rewards Day, where parents/carers can attend.  They also get to visit Police buildings and meet Police officers, see Police vehicles and maybe even Police animals!

All children were selected through an application and interview experience and we were proud to introduce our first group of Crags Mini-police Officers during their induction process in February 2020:
