Crags Community School

Our School

Crags Community School is a Primary School for children aged 2 to 11 and is situated to the East side of the Metropolitan Borough of Rotherham. We are very proud of our school and the community it serves and believe that you will find our school offers a variety of learning and social opportunities that are taking place in a caring and safe school environment.

Crags' learning ethos is to provide a creative and personalised learning environment in which children develop academically, socially and collaboratively. We utilise cross-curricular opportunities, identify personal learning steps and encourage pupils to take ownership of their work.  Pupils experience a wide range of teaching strategies that embrace the development of the whole child.

Teaching promotes a good balance across the physical, emotional, intellectual, cultural, moral and spiritual needs of each pupil and is designed to work in conjunction with the different phases of the child's development. The core subjects of the curriculum are promoted within a wider range of subjects to enable every child to foster links and make connections between their learning goals.

Adapting curricular links and focusing on the individual needs of each pupil, Crags learning ethos is to produce well-rounded and balanced pupils who are ready to embrace the next stages of their education, becoming lifelong learners who are able to cope with the demands of a fast-changing world.
